Founded in 1954, Chongqing University of Education or CQUE is a full-time public higher education institute under the administration of Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. At present, there are 45 undergraduate majors, involving education, literature, science, engineering, management, economics, art and other disciplines. Chongqing University of Education adheres to open education and strives to develop itself into an international education platform. The university has carried out exchanges and cooperation with countries such as the United States, U.K., Spain, Italy, South Korea, Thailand.
Located in Chongqing Nan'an District, the university enjoys advantageous geographic location. Currently, the university has two campuses：Xuefu Avenue campus and Nanshan campus, and they are both very near to the Liberation Monument which is the landmark of Chongqing.
CQUE has developed exchange relationships with more than 80 universities and teaching institutes worldwide. It also has carried out Sino-foreign cooperative programs by introducing quality educational resources from the US, the UK, and Spain.
CQUE currently offers 5 undergraduate programs (Athletic Rehabilitation, Business English, Tourism Management, Chinese Language and Literature, Networks and New Media) and Chinese language program. Upon successful completion of the prescribed curriculum, passing the assessments, and defending the graduation thesis, students are awarded an undergraduate degree.

Chongqing University of Education provides both degree and non-degree programs for international students, among which the degree program mainly includes Chinese language learning, short-term training, and short-term cultural exchange.
