Founded in 1965, Chongqing Polytechnic University of Electronic Technology (CQUET) is a public undergraduate vocational university. In May 2024, the Ministry of Education approved CQUET's establishment by merging with Chongqing College of Electronic Engineering, making it the first public undergraduate vocational university in Chongqing.The key facts of CQUET are as follows:
•CQUET has campuses in University Town, Beibei District, and Yongchuan
District, spanning an area of about 1.71 million square meters (2,566.18 mu) with 772,900 square meters of school buildings.
•Eight specialized colleges and four functional colleges ,serving 21,508 full-time students .
•Guided by its major characteristics, CQUET has established 14 digital intelligence-based characteristic major groups, including information security technology applications, Internet of Things technology applications, automobile manufacturing and test technology, and intelligent building engineering technology.
•In 2024, CQUET offers six full-time vocational undergraduate enrollment majors and 65 full-time higher vocational majors across 10 categories such as electronics and information, equipment manufacturing, and finance and trade.
Since 2018, our university has officially started recruiting international students, dedicated to promoting the internationalization of education. Upon arrival, international students are required to undergo a year of intensive Chinese language learning. They can only proceed to specialized studies in professional colleges after passing the HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) Level 4 exam. This model not only helps international students better adapt to the learning and living environment in China but also lays a solid foundation for their future academic and career development.As of now, our university has a total of 73 international students studying on campus, with 33 of them being language students who are actively preparing for the HSK Level 4 exam in hopes of entering the professional study phase soon. Since the initiation of international student recruitment, our university has cumulatively enrolled over 200 international students from various parts of the world, adding multicultural colors and vitality to the campus.
