Chongqing Industry Polytechnic College is a full-time public general institution of higher education organized by Chongqing Municipal Government and under the supervision of Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. The institution was formerly known as Chongqing Machine Manufacturing School, which was founded by the former State Second Machinery Industry Ministry in 1956; Chongqing Machine Manufacturing School and Chongqing Mechanical Workers' University were merged and upgraded to Chongqing Industry Polytechnic College in 2000; in 2006, it was approved to be the first batch of 28 national demonstration higher vocational colleges and universities; in 2010, it was relocated and moved into the Yubei Air Port; in 2019, it was approved to be the China Characteristics of high-level high-vocational Schools and professional construction program construction unit (B grade).
The institution has two campuses, Yubei Airport Campus and Nanchuan Campus, covering an area of 1,867.82 acres and a building area of 505,100 square meters. There are more than 16,000 full-time students, 2,268,400 books and 338,658,100 yuan of teaching and research equipment. It has 11 secondary colleges and teaching units, including School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Vehicle Engineering, School of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, School of Economics and Management, School of Design, School of Architectural Engineering, School of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering, School of Electronics and Internet of Things Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering, School of Marxism (Ideological and Political Theory Teaching and Research Department), and School of Liberal Studies (Department of Physical Education), and offers 56 majors.
The school has achieved remarkable results in school running. It is one of the first batch of national model higher vocational colleges and universities, the national “double-high program” construction of high-level school (B grade) construction units, has been awarded three times as the national advanced unit of vocational education, and won the national vocational colleges and universities, “Top 50 teaching management”, “Top 50 student management”, “Top 50 student management”, “Top 50 student management” and “Top 50 student management”. In the “2022 Annual Report on the Quality of Vocational Education in China”, the school was honored as one of the 100 outstanding institutions in the Teacher Development Index of Higher Vocational Institutions, one of the 100 outstanding institutions in the Student Development Index of Higher Vocational Institutions, and one of the 60 typical institutions in terms of the contribution of services provided by higher vocational institutions.
Chongqing Industry Polytechnic College (CQIPC) has been recruiting short-term exchange exchange students (less than 12 months) through its inter-school cooperation program since 2015.In 2018, the school launched higher education qualification education (Specialized (3-year)) for international students. The school is an institution under the Mayor's Scholarship Program for Foreign Students of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, and also offers university-level scholarships to outstanding international students.
In recent years, the school has recruited about 80 new international students of various types each year, and 12 Lao academic students are currently at campus.
Chongqing Municipal Government Mayor Scholarship
Established by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, the scholarships are open to non-Chinese nationals who intend to come to Chongqing or are studying for a degree in Chongqing. Applicants should have the equivalent ability of graduating from a Chinese senior secondary school, have excellent academic performance and be under 25 years old. The scholarship amount is 10,000 RMB/year.
This scholarship is established by Chongqing Industry Polytechnic College (CQIPC) for academic and non-academic foreign students (academic foreign students refer to full-time foreign students pursuing specialized degree in CQIPC, non-academic foreign students refer to foreign students undergoing one year or more of study in CQIPC).
Academic students: First Prize: RMB 8000/academic year/person; Second Prize: RMB 6000/academic year/person; Third Prize: RMB 3000/academic year/person.
The award-winning academic students account for 50%-80% of the total number of academic students.
Non-degree students: foreign students who study in our university for one year or more will be awarded the first prize:
First prize: 5000 Yuan/academic year/student, second prize: 3000 Yuan/academic year/student, third prize: 1000 Yuan/academic year/student.
