Chongqing Vocational Institue of Safety and Technology

Chongqing Vocational Institute of Safety and Technology is a full-time public higher vocational institute established by Chongqing Municipal Government, supervised by Chongqing Municipal Emergency Management Bureau, and guided by Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. Jointly supported by the State Ministry of Emergency Management (formerly the State Administration of Safety Supervision) and Chongqing Municipal Government, it is the only higher vocational college of safety in Southwest China. It has been approved as the second batch of pilot schools for first aid education by the Ministry of Education, the third and fourth batch of “mass entrepreneurship and innovation” model branch construction units for Party Building in colleges and universities in the new era by the Ministry of Education, the pilot school for deepening the education evaluation reform in the new era in Chongqing, and the sixth batch of demonstration schools of smart campuses in Chongqing.
The institute has six schools: School of Marxism (School of General Education), School of Safety Supervision and Management, School of Network and Information Security, School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Industrial Safety, School of Construction and Environmental Safety, and School of Business Administration, with more than 11,000 full-time students.
To server for the “Belt and Road Initiative”, China’s opening-up and Chongqing’s economic and social development, the institute joins the New Land and Sea Corridor Alliance, China-Thailand Vocational Education Alliance, China-Africa (Chongqing) Vocational Education Alliance, the Alliance for International Cooperation in Higher Vocational Education, and the Chongqing Association for International Exchange of Education. The institute also works with South Asia Center of UNESCO Vocational Education Center and Sri Lanka National Vocational Education Committee to export three international vocational standards and has signed cooperation agreements with five overseas institutions. In the Machine Learning and Big Data events of the 2024 BRICS Vocational Skills Competition, the team of Chongqing Vocational Institute of Safety and Technology won the gold medal in the international finals at the main venue in Russia.

Programs Overview

Chongqing Vocational Institute of Safety and Technology started to enroll international students since 2019. From January 2nd to January 16th, 2019, a group of 9 Thai students, in their 15-day visit to the institute, toured around Wanzhou, experienced traditional Chinese culture, and observed the teaching in the tourism and safety training programs. In the same year, from April 10th to July 10th, 20 Thai exchange students came to the institute to study Business Computer and Security for three months with the aim of cultivating professionals in Business Computer Security.
